“I always talked about being an astronaut when I was a child. I wanted to be the first woman to walk on the moon. I would make space shuttles out of card board boxes and spend hours ‘flying through outer-space’. Then my best friend got sick. It had such a profound effect on me. I watched her go through this struggle. She was so brave. She spoke so often about her hospital stays and the nurses and doctors that were going to make her feel good again. And they did it. They saved her. That’s when I began playing hospital instead because I wanted to grow up to be a hero too. Being a Resident right now is my dream coming true.”
