INTRODUCING MARVEN MATTHEWS

Q: What High School do you attend?

A: T. W Josey High School.

Q.  Please tell us about your current plans after high school and what inspired you to choose this path? 

A.  I plan to go to miles college and major in music education and also attend the marching band there.

Q.  Please tell us a little bit about your family. 

A.  I have a laid back type of family we are all caring and loving.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

A: The Juicy Crab & Rhinehart’s.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: My adopted mother!

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: Myrtle Beach that’s my favorite place to go and it’s about that time for the beach.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: House of Payne.

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: Stay focused don’t let anything get in your way.

Q: What is your go-to band/singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?

A: I listen to a lot of band music so it depends.

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?

A: My best friends and probably Rhinehart’s.

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?

A: That’s a lot of the people actually care and give back.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: As a band director.

Q: What show are you binge-watching right now?

A: Raven’s Home.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and the best single day on the calendar?

A: July is my favorite month, My favorite holiday is Christmas and the best single day in the calendar is March 28th.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: My mother.

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career, what is one thing you would do differently?

A: Don’t worry about what other people say and stay on my work.

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: Band.

Q: What life lessons have you learned through this quarantine experience?

A: Stay true to yourself.

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: Go to the Beach.
